The Core Idea

CultureCompass Write isn't just about correct grammar. It's about making your writing sound natural and culturally appropriate for your target audience. It helps you bridge the gap between "correct" and "native-sounding."

Using the AI Modes

Correct: For minimal, essential fixes. Ideal for a quick grammar and spelling check.
Rewrite: For improving clarity, flow, and phrasing. Makes your text sound more natural.
Tone & Culture: The core feature. This mode adapts your text to specific cultural norms, adjusting formality, directness, and politeness.
Explain: Doesn't rewrite your text. Instead, it provides a bullet-point analysis of potential grammar, style, or cultural issues.

Understanding the Highlights

When you use the "Compare" view, you'll see color-coded highlights:

Green: Grammar and spelling corrections.
Blue: Style, clarity, and phrasing improvements.
Purple: Cultural tone and politeness adjustments.

Hover over any highlight to see a brief note explaining the change.

Context is Key

The AI's suggestions are heavily influenced by the Language, Country, and Context selectors. Be specific for the best results.

For example, choosing Japan • Business Formal will produce very different results from France • Casual Social, even for the same input text.

Example: From "Direct" to "Japanese Polite"

Your Original Text:

"I need the report by Friday."

AI Suggestion for Japan • Business Formal:

"大変恐縮ですが、レポートを金曜日までにいただけますと幸いです。"

Cultural Notes:

Adds a "cushion word" (大変恐縮ですが) to soften the request.
Uses a more polite and indirect verb form (いただけますと幸いです - "I would be grateful if I could receive it").
